Providing Assistance For Living Life

I started Independence at Home Services, LLC. in February 2010 because I feel that people are happier and fair better when they can be cared for in their own home verses a long term care facility. I have been a nurse for 37 years and while visiting nurses do an admirable job, I always felt that there was another level of care that would help keep a person independent and also be more cost effective then a nursing home.

During my many years of experience as a Nurse Case Manager I have seen many people remain in a long term care facility because they didn’t have assistance at home or their children’s lives where so hectic they did not have time to help with care. My goal is to make living life more comfortable and help people remain in their own home for as long as possible. People are living longer and have worked very hard to have a home and I feel that Independence at Home Services, LLC. gives them the opportunity to remain home with the assistance needed to perform the tasks of daily living they are unable to do on their own.

During my career as a nurse case manager there are things I came across that made it difficult to get someone home from a facility. I have used this knowledge to put together a company that will make it easier to get everything in place for a discharge home. We also do assessments on people who are currently living at home and due to their changing needs could use some assistance in the tasks of daily living that they are unable to do.

The staff of Independence at Home Services, LLC. are dedicated, caring individuals. We have an extensive background check and full reference checks on all employees. I want my companions to go into a client’s home and make a difference in their lives. They will get them involved in new tasks, listen, and motivate them to do some of the things they use to do. For some people we are their only contact. I am very passionate about my company, and hire staff that will represent my company’s mission and values as I would.

A free home safety assessment is a very important step prior to a person returning home. The therapist at the rehab center might order an assistive device only to find when you get home, it doesn’t fit through the doors. If there is a need for a wheel chair ramp, safety bars in the bathroom, other handicap renovations you don’t need to call multiple companies. We do it all.

Your life is changing and you shouldn’t have to worry where your care or the care of your loved ones will come from. There comes a time in every one’s life when they may need some assistance. I personally oversee each client’s case. Call Independence at Home Services, LLC. and let us worry about your needs. “Providing assistance for living life” is our job!
