Pre & Post Operation Services

Planning for the Operation

One area that can be lacking in health care is the pre / post operative planning. Enter Independence At Home Services. One of our home care services is providing the help at home you may need before and after your operation, including transportation.

Pre Operation Services

As part of our home care services, we will do a home safety assessment so that once you are discharged from the hospital your home is safe and ready for your return home. Your assessment will include the following things:

1. We will come into your home prior to surgery and discuss what type of surgery you are having and any possible limitations you may have in your home environment. Based on your information, our home care service will help you decide if doorways, showers and steps, for example, will be a problem for you post operatively. Because we use a bonded, licensed and insured general contractor, we are truly a one-stop shop and can make any of the necessary home modifications you may need, such as safety grab bars or ramps to allow access for wheelchairs or other assisted devices.
2. As a perk to our home care service clients, we offer a full line of durable medical equipment such as beds, commodes and wheelchairs at very discounted rates.
3. Part of our home care service includes developing a detailed, thorough care plan for your recovery, taking into account medical conditions, medical directions and your personal likes and dislikes.

Post Operative Services

We offer help at home for a variety of your needs after surgery.

• Details. Prior to discharge, we can stock your home with food, pick up medications, wait for medical equipment to be delivered and be there when you get home. We take the anxiety out of your discharge.
• Transportation. Should you need to be transported in a vehicle that can accommodate a wheelchair or other assisted device, Independence At Home Services offers this home care service to our clients at discounted rates. When you use this service through us, we also offer you the convenience of monthly billing rather than you having to pay for it upfront.
• Personal care. Independence At Home Services offers live-in or hourly companions (minimum of 4 hours) for help at home so that your own family can return to work knowing you are being cared for by a compassionate, caring company. We are here to help you with the daily chores of living such as dressing, bathing and medication management until you are able to resume them yourself.
• Household chores. Our home care services also include cooking, laundry and shopping.
